The E Commission approves the use of its leaf to catarrh the respiratory tract.
Its leaves are popularly used in infusions to treat respiratory conditions and externally as an antiseptic.
The essential oil is antitussive, expectorant and antiseptic. It provides strong antiseptic effects, especially on the airways, both for domestic use and inhalation. Its external use is antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and healing.
