The European Medicine Agency (EMA) approves its use for the short-term treatment of back pain.

Traditional use: for the relief of minor joint pain, fever associated with the common cold and headache.

According to the ESCOP, it is indicated for the relief of back pain and the symptomatic relief of mild osteoarthritic and rheumatic complaints.

According to the E Commission, willow bark is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of febrile states, mild rheumatic disorders and for the relief of pain, including mild headaches.


It has been observed to possess anti-inflammatory properties thanks to its salicylic compound content.

Salicylic compounds produce an analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect. As an observation, the antiplatelet effect is very low compared to common aspirin.
